Privacy Policy
Short version: BloxStax has no accounts and no servers of its own. Your scores, progress and settings are stored only on your device. The app shows ads from Google AdMob, and Google may process some device data to deliver them. Where the law requires it, you're asked for consent first, and you can change your choice at any time. If you sign up for launch news on this website, we keep your email address only to tell you when the game is out.

Who we are
BloxStax is published by Gzuru Pty Ltd, a company registered in Australia ("we", "us"). Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, Gzuru Pty Ltd is the data controller for the app. Google is an independent controller for the data it processes to serve ads. Contact us at hibloxstax@gmail.com.
Data stored on your device
The app saves the following locally on your iPhone so you can pick up where you left off:
- your current game (the board, the pieces and your score)
- your best score and simple play statistics
- your settings: sound, music, and haptics
- counts of rewards such as undo and shuffle
We never receive this data. It isn't sent to us or to any server we run, and it's deleted when you delete the app. Gameplay events are logged on the device to help with debugging. Those logs are never transmitted. We don't ask for your name, email, contacts, photos, location or any account details.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
BloxStax is free and funded by ads. Ads appear in two ways. Some you choose to watch, such as a video that earns an undo or a continue. Others may appear occasionally between games. The ads are served by the Google Mobile Ads SDK (Google AdMob). To deliver ads, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect and process the following:
- device and app information, such as device model, operating system version, app version and language
- your IP address, which can reveal your approximate location
- interactions with ads, such as impressions, taps and video completion
- ad-related identifiers and diagnostic data, as described by Google
Whether ads are personalised depends on your consent choices (see below). Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy, and Google explains it in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. We don't sell your data, and we don't receive personal data from Google that identifies you.
Consent and privacy choices
The app uses Google's User Messaging Platform to show a consent message where one is legally required. That includes the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, plus privacy notices in US states that require them. No ads are requested until the consent step has finished. If you don't consent to personalised ads, Google may still show non-personalised or limited ads.
To change your choice, open BloxStax and go to Pause › Settings › Privacy Choices. This option appears wherever a privacy message applies. You can withdraw consent as easily as you gave it. Ads and consent never change how the game plays or how pieces are dealt.
Tracking
BloxStax doesn't ask for App Tracking Transparency permission. It doesn't track you across other companies' apps or websites, and it doesn't access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA).
Launch sign-ups on this website
If you enter your email address in the Notify me form on bloxstax.com, we store that address and the time you signed up. We use it for one purpose only: to send you an email when BloxStax launches. We don't add you to any other list, and we don't share or sell your address.
- Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)), given by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Where it's kept: in a database in Sydney, Australia, hosted by Neon, Inc. and reached through Vercel Inc., which act as our service providers. Both are US companies, so your address may be accessed from the United States for support and security purposes.
- How long: we delete the list within 30 days of sending the launch email, or sooner if you ask.
- To be removed: email hibloxstax@gmail.com and we'll delete your address.
The website itself uses no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts.

Legal bases
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Saving your game and settings on your device | Necessary to provide the service you asked for. Storage is strictly necessary under ePrivacy rules. |
| Personalised ads, and storing or accessing information on your device for advertising | Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), collected through Google's consent message. You can withdraw it at any time. |
| Non-personalised ads, ad measurement and fraud prevention | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) in funding a free game, and consent where ePrivacy rules require it |
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. From the app, we hold no personal data about you on our side. If you joined the launch list on our website, we hold your email address as described above. Ad data is processed by Google, so you can also use My Ad Center and Google's privacy tools. Email us and we'll help with any request, normally within one month.
You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the UK, that's the Information Commissioner's Office.
International transfers
Google may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Google relies on recognised safeguards for these transfers, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
US state privacy rights (including California)
We don't sell personal information for money. However, letting Google use device data for targeted advertising may count as "selling" or "sharing" under some US state laws. You can opt out in Settings › Privacy Choices when that option is shown, or by contacting us. You also have the right to know about, delete and correct personal information, and you won't be treated differently for using these rights. We don't knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Australia
We handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. If you have a concern, contact us first. If we don't resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Children
BloxStax is a general-audience game and isn't directed at children under 13, or under the age of digital consent where you live. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child's data has been processed through ads in the app, contact us and we'll help you raise it with Google.
Retention and security
Game data stays on your device until you delete the app or reset it, and it's protected by iOS security. If your device backups include app data, it's also in your iCloud or computer backup. We keep any email you send us only as long as we need it to answer you. Google retains ad data according to its own policies.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling data differently, for example by adding a new service, we'll update this page and the effective date before the change ships. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
